Autel tools excel in this segment with their diverse range.
If you require a step up in functionality from these models then take a look at the Topdon Phoenix series.

Adquiri un Scaner TOPDON, y no tengo respuesta, por favor informe me, gracias.
Hi Terry,
Sorry to hear about your Elite 2 being stolen.
To help clear up the confusion around the TOPDON range, here’s a straightforward breakdown based on what you’re looking for:
Phoenix Smart, Elite & Max – key points
Bluetooth VCI – all Phoenix models use a wireless Bluetooth VCI, similar to the Autel VCI-200.
Speed & capability – performance is comparable to (and in many cases on par with) Autel Elite-level tools.
Topology mapping – available on the Phoenix Smart, Elite, and Max.
VCI size difference – the Smart, Elite and Max use the larger VCI because it is J2534 pass-thru capable, allowing for online programming on supported vehicles.
Update pricing – annual updates across the Phoenix range are significantly cheaper than Autel.
Docking station – only the Phoenix Max includes a charging/docking station, and that is also the model with the larger 13” screen.
Based on your requirements, the Phoenix Smart or Phoenix Elite are usually the closest replacements to an Autel Elite without jumping to the size or cost of the Phoenix Max.
Regarding customer support: generally, TOPDON’s support is quite good, but response times can vary depending on region.
If you’re based in Australia and purchase through us, you won’t need to deal with overseas call centres at all. You can call us directly during business hours – we have a full in-house support team, provide honest advice, and back everything we sell.
If you’d like to talk through which model best suits your exact needs, feel free to give us a call, we’re always happy to help.
Thanks – The team at PDE
My Autel Elite 2 was stolen and I’m looking to replace the tool, plus add Topology. I’m confused with all of the Topdon models -
What I would like is:
1) Bluetooth VCI (like my Autel had – VCI-200)
2) Similar speed and capabilities – or more
3) Topology for sure
4) Less expensive update prices than Autel
5) A charging/Docking station would be great – but I don’t want that huge 13" screen or the price of the Topdon Max
What do you recommend? I’ve called Topdon USA 6 times in the past 3 weeks and I’ve left 6 messages and 2 emails – but no reply from Topdon.
I tried to also contact Topdon Technical support – left a phone number after holding for a long time – but no reply from them either.
Question – is Topdon typically horrible customer service as I’ve already experienced?
I’ve been looking at many Topdon models, including the Phoenix Smart, and Phoenix Elite.
It’s really hard to find detailed information of which one has which features.
In my opinion Autel has the big name and it might have some features over Topdon but the Topdon 800BT that you sold me a few years ago has been the best tool I could have ever bought for my money. I don’t need a big name like Autel. I need value for money with a company that has good support and not one that ties me up with expensive updates. I never got the support from Autel even under warranty when one of mjne just stopped. They were not interested in me so I am no longer interested in them. My Topdon 800BT is the best little tool since sliced bread and I would recommend it to anyone through your company and your good service. If it wasn’t for you on the day I rang you for you help with a new scanner. I may not have found this very practical little gem. Thank you.
