The OBDLink EX is a USB adapter built specifically for FORScan. If you're working on Fords or Mazdas and need proper module access, this is the adapter the FORScan team itself recommends over Bluetooth or Wi-Fi options. It plugs straight into a laptop and gives you a stable wired connection for module programming, PMI (Programmable Module Installation) and full network diagnostics.

Built for FORScan, not a generic ELM327: Electronic switching between HS-CAN, MS-CAN and the legacy J1850 network happens automatically. No toggle switch, no guessing which position matches which module.
Stable enough for module programming: A wired USB connection holds steady during PMI, BCM replacement, key programming and other flash procedures where a Bluetooth dropout costs you the job.
Full module access: Reads and clears codes across engine, transmission, ABS, SRS, BCM, PCM and other Ford and Mazda specific modules that a generic OBD2 scanner can't reach.

Software & Vehicle Compatibility

Software required: FORScan (free download, Windows PC). This adapter is the hardware interface only. You'll need to install FORScan yourself, and an extended licence through FORScan (paid, separate to this adapter) unlocks module programming and advanced functions.

Vehicles: Ford, Lincoln, Mercury and Mazda, 1996 onward, including Ranger, Falcon, Territory, Everest, Transit, Focus, Mondeo, BT-50 and CX-5.
Also works with: OBDwiz and most standard OBD2 software for general diagnostics on any 1996+ OBD2 compliant vehicle.
Not compatible with: iOS (no app support), hybrid or electric vehicles. Android needs a separate USB OTG cable, not included.
