ECU & Control Module Cloning & Programming Services

Premium Diagnostic Equipment now offers professional ECU and automotive control module cloning and programming services.

If you’re replacing a failed ECU, TCM, BCM or other control module, simply fitting a replacement unit may not be enough. Many modules contain vehicle-specific information such as immobiliser data, VIN information, coding, configuration and learned data that may need to be transferred from the original module.

Where supported, we can clone the data from your original module to a compatible replacement module, allowing the replacement unit to retain the required vehicle-specific information.

How It Works

1. Contact us before sending your modules

Send us your vehicle details and clear photos of the labels and part numbers on both the original and replacement modules.

Our technical team will confirm whether we can support the module and advise what is required.

2. Send us both modules or drop them off to our Gold Coast workshop

Once compatibility has been confirmed, send your original module and replacement module to Premium Diagnostic Equipment.

3. We clone/program the replacement

Where possible, we read the required data from the original module and transfer it to the replacement unit using professional automotive programming equipment.

4. We return both modules

Once completed, both modules are returned to you ready for installation and any vehicle-side procedures that may still be required.

Module cloning capabilities vary considerably between vehicle manufacturers, module types, hardware versions and part numbers. Some modules cannot be cloned, and some replacement modules may require additional programming, coding, adaptation or OEM procedures after installation.

The original module must also be sufficiently functional for the required data to be successfully read. We cannot guarantee that data can be recovered from a severely damaged or completely unreadable module.
